Punto Banco Pro - Low

Summary

Punto Banco encapsulates the concept of the game in the name itself. The game is all about placing bets and choosing sides either the player’s side (punto) or the bank’s side (banco). It is as simple as that but there some rules and guidelines that need to be observed that problematize the game to just the right level.
There are several versions of this game available. This one in particular is the low variation of the game. It is great for beginners, allowing players to take things easy while familiarising themselves with the game. The minimum bet begins as low as 10p while the maximum is £10.

About the Game

Punto Banco is not too different from Baccarat especially so in their online versions.
The magic number in this game is: 9. The player to get a number closest to 9, wins the game. Oddly enough, winning the game does not necessarily mean winning the prize. Allow us to elaborate.
The objective of the game is not to get a number as close to 9 as possible. It is to guess who will actually get a number closer to 9 you (Punto, the player) or the dealer (Banco, the bank). Once you have established that, you place your bet. If your guess is correct, you win!
You can place 1 of 3 bets:
1) Punto this bet is placed on the player which means the player (you) has a closer total to 9
2) Banco this bet is placed on the bank player which means the dealer has a closer total to 9
3) Egalité this means a tie i.e. both player and the bank have the same value
If for example either the player or the bank lands a total number that is higher than 9, the value 10 is removed from the total to make it the final single digit number.
Rules for Punto (player)
- If the total of the player’s hand is anywhere between 0 to 5, it is mandatory for the player to draw a third card
- If the total of the player’s hand is either 6 or 7, the player needs to stand. This means they are not meant to pick up further cards
- If the total of the player’s hand is 8 or 9, this is termed natural’ and as logic dictates, the player would have to stand
Rules for BANCO (bank)
- If the total of the bank’s hand is anywhere between 0 to 3, it is mandatory for the bank to draw a third card
- If the total of the bank’s hand is 4, while the player’s hand is anywhere between 2 to 7, it is mandatory for the bank to draw a third card
- If the total of the bank’s hand is 5, while the player’s hand is anywhere between 4 to 7, it is mandatory for the bank to draw a third card
- If the total of the bank’s hand is 6, while the player’s hand is either 6 or 7, it is mandatory for the bank to draw a third card. The bank only needs to draw this third card if the player’s total is made up of 3 cards, if not the bank is free to stand.
- If the total of the bank’s hand is 7, the bank is required to stand
- If the total of the bank’s hand is either 8 or 9, then both the bank and the player are required to stand
